Shloka 45

The Blessed Lord spoke:

The Vedas deal mainly with the three Gunas (qualities and nature). One of these is known as the material portion of life in the world. You must overcome all of these Gunas, O ARJUNA. Get rid of all you doubts. Free yourself of all frustrations and grief and devote mind and soul to God. This is true peace and happiness.

हे अर्जुन ! वेद उपर्युक्त्त प्रकार से तीनों गुणों के कार्य रूप समस्त भोगों एवं उनके साधनों का प्रति पादन करने वाले हैं ; इसलिये तू उन भोगों एवं उनके साधनों में आसक्त्तिहीन, हर्ष-शोकादि द्बन्द्बों से रहित, नित्य वस्तु परमात्मा में स्थित, योगक्षेम को न चाहने वाला और स्वाधीन अन्त:करण वाला हो ।। ४५ ।।
